Bond Brick to build Southampton Operational Command Unit
Bond Brick Ltd has been awarded its biggest ever project. The contract, awarded by Kier Group, is to undertake the building of a new £38million headquarters for the Hampshire Police Authority in Southampton.

The Southampton Operational Command Unit will include a 42 cell custody suite and provide a state of the art building for operations and administrative functions. The new 7,150sq m building will consolidate previously split-site locations to create one new central police facility.
Located close to Southampton city centre on an existing brown-field site (the former Norman Offer Transport site), the new Southampton Operations Command Unit (SOCU) was procured using the SECE (now IESE) Major Framework.
Construction has now commenced and will be completed in December 2010. The landmark building will provide a modern police facility for generations to come. Bond Brick has a permanent onsite management team to ensure the smooth running of the build.
Richard Bond, Managing Director of Bond Brick Ltd explains “This prestigious contract is the culmination of hard work by the whole Bond Brick team involving all departments within the firm including surveying, tendering, planning and operations. Our experience of major builds and competitive pricing, combined with our excellent reputation and previous work with Kier Group has enabled us to secure this landmark contract.”
